IN-FORM Nantwich came close to an upset at ECB Premier leaders Hyde.
The Dabbers have been on a roll of late and almost capped it against one of the division's big guns, last Saturday.
Closing 24 runs short with two wickets intact, a draw still indicates the strides Chris Hampshire and the lads are making this season.
Outstanding Aussie Steve Paulsen played his part once again, weighing in with both bat and ball at Werneth Low.
Opting to bat, Dave Fitzsimmons top scored for Hyde with a fine 84 as he helped them towards a decent enough 223 from 54 overs.
Jimmy Duffy also contributed with an innings of 63 while the wickets were shared between usual duo, paceman Barrington Browne (5-41) and Paulsen (5-92).
With 55 overs to chase, Nantwich went for it and Paulsen lead the way.
The league's leading run-getter took his total for the season so far to 480 with a hard-hitting 54.
Chris Simpson added 36 to chase but the Dabbers closed on 200-8
Bagging 11 points keeps Nantwich sixth ahead of a trip to fourth-placed Christleton on Saturday.
