ELWORTH continued their revival with a big seven-wicket win over high-flying Cheadle.
Three wins out of an unbeaten four have lifted them out of the NSSC Division One basement.
Electing to bowl first, Elworth initially kept the score down well before cranking up the pressure on the openers.
Andrew Shaw was first to crack, edging a ball from Paul Crompton into the hands of keeper Tarek Alam for 20.
Tom Hodgkinson was next to go when he was run out for 34 but Darren Plant looked set at the other end and began to score more freely.
Matt Buckley came back to bowl a demon second spell, collecting the wicket of Imran Jawaid (14) before pro Murray Ranger made his own impact.
The South African caught Adam Alcock (23) and Alex Bonehill for a duck while Jim Higgins quickly snapped up Steve Lowell (2) to reduce Cheadle to 179-6.
Chris Barker upped the pace with an unbeaten 26 off 28 balls while Darren Plant finished on a superb 90 not out as they declared on 220-6.
That was gettable with Pete Davies and Kevin Underwood (22) making a good start in reply before the later had to retire with cramp.
Davis carried on to make 37 while Ranger (43) and Palin gave Elworth every chance of victory, the former skipper smashing seven fours and a six on his way to 58.
Although both fell in a minor stutter, Rob Beech (18no) and Alan Wright continued to attack to wrap the game up quickly.
Wright's unbeaten 27 from only 16 balls made it convincing with a fine 20 points lifting them up to eighth in the table.
Form like this could still see them push for promotion.
