REGARDING Points of View, June 25, ('On yer bike').
Yet again Patrick Mullee has to have a go at people who are elected onto local councils, be it borough or parish, remembering of course that he resigned as a parish councillor.
He has used these pages and others to vilify Stockton Heath parish councillors and others who have disagreed with his ideas/plans in relation to Stockton Heath Primary School. He now has another go at Clr Jordan, who has the honour of being selected as deputy mayor of our town.
If you read his letter you will notice he was delivering a letter to the Town Hall - by hand.
Question - did he walk there? Clr Jordan, along with other parish councillors at Stockton Heath, has been continuously concerned about the emissions and the monitoring of those emissions, especially from vehicles whose drivers fail to turn off their vehicle engines when the bridge is 'turned' over the Manchester Ship Canal.
There is great concern about the effects of those emissions on the residents and visitors to the parish.
Ex-councillor Mullee voiced his concern about emissions during his short stay as a councillor.
However, reflect on the emissions from Mr Mullee's transport to the Town Hall (I don't think he cycled).
Then we have the two successful steam parties held in Stockton Heath centre in 2004 and 2005, with the coal-burning steam vehicles and other steam attractions, puffing out their black, smelly 'smoke'.
Granted it drew crowds and was good for the village economy.
Who has a great interest in these types of vehicles? Who asked and got from the parish council, grants for the events?
Who was the main organiser of these successful events?
Patrick Mullee.
