VETERANS of the Suez conflict are celebrating after a ruling by the Government that will see them honoured for their service.
Fairfield and Howley councillor Paul Kenny has been campaigning to help veterans receive their badges to recognise their service and has welcomed the move to reward all those who served in the conflict in 1956.
He said: "I'm delighted that the badge is now being extended to include all those who served in our armed forces any time up to the end of 1959. The many heroic acts and sacrifices of our veterans and their families must never be forgotten."
Any veterans wanting to apply for the badge should call Clr Kenny on 721184.
