WOOLSTON girl Amy Parker is leading a 13-strong team in organising a massive north west arts festival next month.
Amy, aged 20, from Epping Drive, is co-ordinating the street theatre and opening festival parade of the Diva Arts Festival in Chester.
Set up to celebrate diversity in the arts and to encourage social inclusiveness both in performance and audiences, the event is organised by students from Chester University in conjunction with Chester City Council.
A theme this year is heightening the public's awareness of the problems of dyslexia.
Amy, a drama and history student, wants to develop the festival's theatrical aspects.
She said: "We'd like to achieve a harmony of action and colour to make an eye-catching spectacle, particularly with the parade. We are planning flag dances and lots of other action! We want every performer to take part in this.
"The overall effect could look stunning.
"We want to raise awareness of problems people with learning disabilities face and demonstrate that an arts festival can be something everybody can join in with."
