THOUSANDS of pounds have already been raised, but fundraising efforts for the children of Romania continue in Lymm.
And this time, Philip Savage will be involved in a walking event at Stockley Working Farm in Arley.
The congregation at Lymm Baptist Church and other churches in the village have already raised money through a variety of charity events ranging from a concert to a graveyard sleepover!
But the race is still on.
The group wants to raise £150,000 to refurbish an orphange in Romania - and there is still £50,000 needed to complete the job.
The building will allow some
40 children to move into the home which will have central heating and be weatherproof.
The Emanuel Home will provide teaching as well as housing for the youngsters.
Lymm Baptist Church has been heavily involved in the fundraising effort and on Saturday, the Walk2Romania 2006 takes place.
The event will
raise valuable cash and will see many people take part.
Phil Savage, one of the group, said: "I visited the home in May 2005 to install the first fixed plumbing and again this year to complete the second fixed electrics.
"The work is emotional, tiring but very rewarding."
So far this year:
l £500 was raised at a concert at Lymm Baptist Church in March.
l £1,500 was raised during a sleepover at the church in the graveyard.
l £3,000 at a village wide auction of promises in November last year.
