A PUB regular has been jailed for injuring two staff and throwing cement through a window.

Kevin Harper was jailed for six months and banned from The Rose Inn, in Great Sankey, for 12 months at Warrington Crown Court on Friday.

He was seen scuffling with drinkers at closing time one night last September and he threw a glass that cut landlord Frank Smith's head.

After being restrained and escorted out, Harper threw two fist-sized lumps of concrete through a window - one hit barman Andrew Blackburn in the back.

Harper caused damage to glasses, cabinets and tables costing £237.

Harper, aged 45, from Cavendish Close in Old Hall, pleaded guilty to two counts of causing actual bodily harm and one count of damaging property.

Recorder Wynn Lloyd-Jones told him: "At your age you really should know better. But I accept your remorse is genuine."

Barrister Simon Berkson, defending Harper, said his client had been welcomed as a regular at the pub for many years.

He said a 'combination of factors' - that were not detailed - had made Harper 'go off the rails'.
