RIVERSIDE Retail Park is to introduce mum and baby parking spaces.
The town centre retail park, which houses Borders and Homebase, announced the news as it agreed to cancel a £50 parking ticket for a grandmother.
Ruth Frayne, aged 68, parked in an empty disabled space because she had her twin 20-month-old grandchildren with her.
Half an hour later she found the £50 parking fine.
"There were so many disabled parking spots empty, I parked outside the book shop to get a baby out of each side of the car and put the double buggy up," said Mrs Frayne, from Hillberry Crescent in Latchford.
Francis Wright, director of property management at Prudential, said: "The lack of mother and baby spaces is a need we have identified recently and we will be looking to introduce a number of spaces across the car park in the near future.
"Under the circumstances we are sorry that Mrs Frayn was inconvenienced in this way and as a gesture of goodwill we will make arrangements to have the fine refunded or cancelled."
