A MANCHESTER pensioner took a wrong turn on his bike and ended up cycling all the way to Warrington.
Stanley Smith was eventually discovered on the M60 after his marathon journey around the north west.
He left his home in Davyhulme in the city at 11am and spent 12 hours trying to get back again.
A national newspaper reported that he recalled reaching Warrington before being stopped by police officers in Bury who told him he was liable to be fined for cycling along the motorway.
The 75-year-old is now recovering at home.
