IT'S Stretton Walking Day on Saturday, July 15.
The celebration will begin with a service at St Matthew's Church, Stretton Road, at 11am, and the annual rose queen handover ceremony. Warrington Phoenix Drummer Band will lead the walking day procession at 12pm. A summer fete will be held at St Matthew's CE Primary School from 1-4pm.
Entertainment will be provided by the Anderton School of Dance and Appleton Thorn Dance School. There will be donkey rides, an inflatable gladiator combat game, a bar, and fairground rides.
n From 11.45am to 1pm, the B5356 Stretton Road from St Matthew's Primary School to the A49 Tarporley Road will be closed.
London Road will also be closed from Stretton Road to Longwood Road and from London Road to Pewterspear Road West.
Alternative routes will be through Longwood Road, Dipping Brook Avenue, Blackcap Road and Stretton Road, and vice versa.
