AN oil rig worker from Widnes has told of his dramatic escape from armed kidnappers in Trinidad.
Paul Bolton, aged 34, was seized by a gang on the sunshine island and he says the men threatened to shoot him.
The father-of-three says he was bundled into a car after having a meal with friends on June 15.
He was driven to a remote village where he escaped by jumping from a window - but broke his ankle in the 100ft fall.
He managed to raise the alarm and was taken to hospital.
Mr Bolton told the BBC: "When I broke my ankle I didn't really feel the pain, the adrenalin just kept me going. I just kept thinking about my wife and children."
He is now recovering at home with his family.
