THERE has been a mixed reaction from Barnton parish councillors to an application for a 65ft mast, to be situated at the bottom of Townfield Lane.
Barnton parish chairman Clr Maurice Ferguson said: "It will be right in the middle of green fields. It is going to be an eyesore."
But parish Clr Angela Robinson said it was one of the better applications for a mast.
She said: "It is going to be in the woods and is actually within the trees. I don't have any objections."
Parish Clr Simon Kennish lives in Cherry Tree Avenue, which would face the mast.
He said: "There are already three masts in the vicinity and there is now possibly going to be a fourth mast in a very small area."
The parish council voted to oppose the proposal.
