A TEENAGE boy was stabbed in the arm during a disturbance in the Old Town on Saturday night after the England game.
The 17-year-old collapsed on the footpath in Bridge Street opposite the swimming baths with blood gushing from wounds in his hands and forearm.
"There was a lot of blood," one witness told the World.
"His mates were panicking then he passed out. Someone else gave him first aid and luckily, by the time the ambulance came, he was able to stand up."
Paramedics took him to Warrington Hospital shortly after 7pm.
Police have arrested a 43-year-old local man in connection with the altercation.
He was bailed to return to custody on August 14.
Anyone who witnessed the incident should contact the specialist investigations unit on 01244-613 933 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555 111.
