RAIN ruined Cheshire's chances for the second successive match.
After a washout at Berkshire in their opening Minor Counties Championship fixture, the weather made sure they had to settle for a draw with Cornwall.
Oulton Park batsman Danny Leech struck 85 on the opening day, supporting skipper Andy Hall (138) in a second-wicket stand of 193 as Cheshire posted 374-8 from their 90 overs.
After no play at all on day two, Cornwall reached 297-7 declared on the final day.
Park captain Nathan Dumelow (3-92) was the pick of the Cheshire bowling attack.
There was time for his team to bat again, reaching 134-6, with Leech making 20.
"It's disappointing we've not had the chance to win the match, but the rain meant we had to get 17 wickets on the last day, which is incredibly hard," said Hall.
"We knew by lunchtime we couldn't win."
His men shared the spoils with Cornwall, taking 11 points to their opponents' 10.
They take on Dorset next at Nantwich in a three-day match from July 9.
