CROWDS who descended on Risley Moss last week got a lesson in nature.
This year's Green Safari Day featured almost 30 different displays and activities including traditional crafts, activities, animals, birds of prey, pond dips for the youngsters and guided walks onto the moss itself, a rare opportunity for visitors.
And, for those who wanted to take a step back in time, there was some fairground fun.
Youngsters were able to enjoy some traditional fairground rides in the form of swing boats and a hand-cranked roundabout featuring beautifully carved galloping horses.
For the more adventurous, there was even anoutdoor platform lift that offered a bird's eye view of the woods and beyond.
The safari day last week, was organised by the rangers service in the park along with some help from Risley Moss Action Group, a charity which supports the nature reserve.
Risley Moss is one of the few remaining mosslands in Cheshire and is a site of special scientific interest and is a designated local nature reserve.
