GREAT Sankey man Mark Copeland was sent a Spanish lottery scam letter - two days after seeing a warning about it on ITV.
The 46-year-old received a letter telling him he had won around £425,000 in Euros from the 'Loteria Primitiva' - and asking him to fax over his bank details.
But he had seen the scam exposed on Tonight with Trevor McDonald and contacted the Warrington Guardian to help alert people to the danger.
"I knew straight away what it was," said Mark, who lives in Mayfair Close with wife Kerry. "But there must be some more vulnerable people out there who haven't heard about it and don't know that it isn't true."
The letter claims the recipient must pay 10 per cent of the 'winnings' to a company called Groupama Seugros, which 'bought' the ticket, before the full prize can be claimed.
