A WORLD Cup week at Legh Vale Primary School, in Haydock, saw youngsters improving their soccer skills and taking part in a fun penalty shoot-out competition.
Other activities included designing a mascot, shirt and football boot, sampling foods from around the world, non-uniform and kit days, and helping boost literacy, numeracy and general fitness.
The school teamed up with St Helens Council's Saints community sports coach Mark Jennings, who works at venues across the borough introducing sports to youngsters.
