THE sun has come out and once again the village of Sandymoor is blighted by that most destructive of summer blights - the arrival of the travellers.
Each year the village takes more elaborate and unsightly precautions to try to avoid their settling, but still they find ways and means to dig in.
Even now, with an increased police presence in the area courtesy of the custody suite, they still arrive in large numbers.
They break in to private land, leave all kinds of waste on grounds used by children and animals alike and cause an unsightly nuisance to the area in general.
The roads look like a highway maintenance area and the roads and footpaths are used as racetracks.
What are the council and the police doing about it? Why can't the travellers be arrested for breaking and entering?
