AN artist is hoping to score with his timely portrait of a sporting icon currently heading up the England team.
Lee Trantum, aged 32, of Crowe Avenue, Longford, is keeping his fingers crossed that England's current success in the World Cup will mean a buyer for his David Beckham Three Lions portrait.
The Longford artist dreams of working full time on his craft once his talent has been fully recognised.
Lee has already won the celebrity seal of approval and Old Trafford is the current home of his portrait of Manchester United legend Sir Matt Busby, which was bought for £1,000.
Another fan of Lee's work is Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson, who asked the artist to send him a copy of a portrait he had shown him.
