GREAT Sankey Parish Councillor Tony Dodd has died.
Clr Dodd had suffered from health problems for a while and died at Warrington Hospital on May 29.
He joined the parish council as a Liberal Democrat in June 2004, and had previously worked for the probation service and been in the Army.
He worked on issues including planning and employment, and was also a governor at Sycamore Lane Primary School.
The parish council held a minute's silence in respect of him at the start of the last meeting at Tim Parry Community Centre, Wroxham Road.
Cheryl Wakefield, clerk to the council, said: "Tony Dodd was a conscientious and concerned member of the council. He will be sadly missed."
Chairman Clr Alan Bird said: "He always made an incisive contribution to the debate."
