EVERY high school in the town will be affected by the council's plans to overhaul secondary education provision.
The shake-up will also affect many primary school pupils, who might find the high school they were due to attend changes.
As we reported last week, the Government has given Warrington Borough Council more than £18m to spend on a single school project by 2009 and, as a result, education officials have drawn up different ideas for how that money could be spent.
Three options are being considered for the first new school, which include: Culcheth High School, William Beamont and a new school on the Hillock Lane Playing Fields in Woolston, which would replace Woolston High and Padgate High School.
But, in 2016 the council is expecting to be given money for two new schools and wants to consider how that money can be spent now. Clr Sheila Woodyatt, borough council executive board member for children's services, says the local authority is keen to hear the views of residents.
She said: "The council is committed to full and open consultation with the whole community, which is why we are embarking on this consultative exercise to enable you to help us make the right decisions.
"We need the public to respond and enable us to take account of their views and all the relevant factors before a decision is made in September."
Here we look at what changes could be made to your local school and when you have got a chance to put forward your views.
