A HERO community support officer hailed a 'neighbourhood champ' for his dedication to a Runcorn estate has had a school shield named after him.
The 'David Brownlee Junior Citizenship Award' will be presented annually to a Park Primary School pupil who has done something to make Castlefields a better place to live.
"I'm very honoured to have an award named after me," said David, who donated his neighbourhood champ prize money to the Castlefields Festival Committee."
The Park Primary School recently won a competition to design a logo for the festival's balloons and used some of the money to buy the shield in honour of him.
The shield will be awarded to a deserving pupil for the first time next month with their name being added to shield displayed in the school with a smaller one given to them to take home.
