NANTWICH Town will rake in the cash after drawing NWC Division One newcomers FC United in the League Challenge Cup.
The Dabbers got the plum draw to swell club coffers with a Second Round home tie against the Division Two champs on Saturday, November 11.
In financial terms, this is like gold dust.
Formed in the wake of the Glazers' takeover, the Old Trafford rebels have dispelled any myths of being a five-minute wonder.
FC United went from strength to strength in their inaugural season, winning promotion at a canter and making many friends along the way.
Namely opposing chairman.
Drawing crowds as high as 4,000 at their temporary home of Gigg Lane, figures easily eclipse resident League Two club Bury.
And they also take a large four-figure following on away days.
So with a league meeting also in the bag, Nantwich will reap the financial benefits of two bumper attendances.
"It's a great draw, I'm sure it's the one a lot of clubs were hoping for and we've been fortunate," admitted Dabbers boss Steve Davis.
"From a financial point of view, it's great for the club."
Last season Norton switched their home fixture to nearby Port Vale to maximise their gate.
Whether Nantwich could do the same with their friends just down the road is purely speculation at this stage.
"There have been talks about what we could do," added Davis.
"I'd love to be able to play it at home but it could depend on policing, parking and all kinds of things.
"It's not until November so we've got a bit of time to sort it out unless we get them early in the league.
"It would be nice if we had the new ground ready and it was late on in the season."
Looking to build on last season's success, the FA Vase winners are back in training and ready to go.
Davis hopes to take on FC United in the promotion stakes.
"The expectancy levels will be a bit higher now we've won something," continued Davis.
"Mine have risen too and I'm sure they have for the lads as well.
"They want to do well and the priority is obviously to try and win promotion."
Hot shot Matt Blake is on the mend after his knee-op while veteran striker John Scarlett will stay on with the club.
"Blakey is on holiday now and he deserves a break," explained Davis.
"He's a good healer anyway and he won't want to be out too long.
"John's going to stay with us."
"He wants to spend more time with his family but he's said if we need him, he'll be available.
"He'll sign a form for us and he'll continue to be a part of this club."
