I was pleased to see that the police are taking action against people parking vehicles on pavements on match days at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.

These vehicles are a danger to the blind and a danger and nuisance to everyone else, especially people in wheelchairs and people pushing prams.

I look forward to the endeavour being extended to all areas of Warrington where it is now the norm to park not just with two wheels on the pavement but all four. Also, they might take a look at other illegal parking practices - parking on junctions, parking opposite junctions, parking on grass verges, on double yellow lines, on school criss-cross markings, and across driveways.

I will not be holding my breath as, when I mentioned the problem in my area to a police officer, he replied that it is condoned to ease traffic flow - except on match days it would seem.
