STRETTON were beaten by 17 runs at Castrol in Meller Braggins Cheshire Cricket League Division Three on Saturday.
Steve Critchley took four wickets as Castrol were dismissed for 167 but Faisal Maqsood was the top scorer with 46 as Stretton could only make 150.
The second team won by five wickets at home to Castrol's seconds after the visitors could only make 172 for 7 in their innings. Bryan Jones took 3 for 56 before Adjit hit 46 not out to help Stretton home.
Stretton's under 13s were knocked out of the North Cheshire Junior Cricket Association Cup at the quarter-final stage after losing to Grappenhall by one run.
Grappenhall made 64 for 8 in their innings and, although Stretton's Adam Green started well, making 38, they collapsed from 33 for 0 to 63 for 7.
