THREE Warrington tennis players are in contention to reach the finals of the national Sunday Telegraph/Center Parcs Junior Tennis Grand Prix competition.
Callum Lloyd defeated Lymm High School's Alex Newell 6-4 6-4 in the final of the under 18s category at the Doncaster Trafford Press Junior Tennis Tournament and both picked up enough points at the event to give them a chance of qualifying for the national finals, which will be held at the Spanish resort of La Manga in November.
Oscar Pope triumphed 6-3 6-2 against Nottingham's Donovan Cellupica in the final of the under 10s category and could earn a trip to Center Parcs in Sherwood Forest for the national finals in his age group in September. Qualifying for the national competition continues until August.
