WINWICK was awash with colour at this year's Winwick Gala Carnival.
Organised by St Oswald's Church and Winwick Primary School and held in the church hall and grounds, the day saw a variety of entertainment, stalls, fun and games for the community.
There were activities, including face painting, a wheel of fortune, a lucky dip, raffles and a tombola, a coconut shy and the crowning of the Gala Rose Queen, Carly Bennett, aged 13, who took over the position from her older sister, Holly.
And a pair of pirates were also said to be at large!
Karen Campbell, who helped organise the day, said: "It went very well. Weather-wise it couldn't have been better and I think everyone enjoyed themselves."
