WOOLSTON Rovers will end a two-year break from winter competition when they take part in the North West Counties League during the 2006/07 season.
Rovers, who topped in the amateur ranks in the 1990s, were rocked by a fire in their clubhouse in 2002.
The club has only had four junior teams since their open age side became Warrington Wizards and moved to summer rugby.
But, under the leadership of former British Amateur Rugby League Association international Clint Rylance, Woolston will again have an open age winter side competing in the league next season.
They plan to train at Bennett's Recreation Ground on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7.30pm from this week onwards.
