Rugby union girls win at the games
WARRINGTON'S combined year seven and eight girls' rugby union side were victorious at the Cheshire and Warrington Partnership Youth Games in Ellesmere Port on Saturday.
Warrington came out on top against five other teams from across the county, with captain Anna Day ending the competition as their top try scorer.
The team, who were led by community rugby coach Peter Allen and team manager Natasha Corns, had been preparing for the event for five weeks.
Foster to Burnley
WARRINGTON professional footballer Stephen Foster has cut his ties with Crewe Alexandra to join Championship side Burnley.
The 25-year-old former England Schoolboy international defender played 242 games for Alex after graduating from their Academy in 1997, but their relegation to League One has prompted his switch to Steve Cotterill's Burnley on a two-year deal.
