at top of priorities

PRIORITIES for the next 10 years are being fixed by Congleton Borough Council with help from residents.

The Congleton Local Strategic Partnership, which brings together the work of the borough's public, private, voluntary and community sectors, has put its draft sustainable community strategy out for consultation with the public.

Its top priorities include tackling the affordability and availability of housing, alcohol abuse, community cohesion between travellers and the settled community, the transport and independent needs of older people, cultural and leisure facilities for young people, regeneration of market towns, tourism, energy consumption and recycling.

The strategy will be available for consultation until September 9 and can be viewed on the council website www.congleton.gov.uk.
