WAGGY tails and sad puppy dog eyes will be winning prizes when Middlewich hosts its first dog show this summer.
Mayor Clr Jean Eaton and neighbour Ann Webster, both of Long Lane, have organised the event on August 27.
A variety of pedigree, novelty and obedience classes will allow perfect pets to shine at the show, which will take place at Middlewich Community Centre, in Civic Way.
Clr Eaton said: "Once this event is on the dog calendar and people enjoy it they'll come back year after year."
The show has a Kennel Club licence but dogs do not have to be registered with the club to be entered.
Fees are £1 per class, helping to raise money for the mayor's charity, The Community and Youth Project, and dogs must be entered from 10.30am on the day with judging from 11.30am.
