THE Planning Inspectorate has thrown out an appeal for an equestrian centre in Marston but applicants are hopeful they can still bring horse riding to the village.
Last March agents Simon Mason Designs Ltd submitted to Vale Royal Borough Council for outline planning permission to build two stable blocks and a small arena on land at the back of a scrap metal yard in The Avenue.
Applicants were left disappointed when the planning authority knocked back the proposals last July on grounds of sufficient information and lodged an appeal at the beginning of this year.
Simon Mason said: "Although the council did support the proposals it wanted more information which we weren't expecting to have to provide for an outline application such as detailed traffic movement reports."
In January the applicants lodged an appeal against the borough council's decision but the Planning Inspectorate has dismissed the appeal.
Mr Mason said: "We're disappointed but we have a meeting with the planning authority next week to see how we can move forward with this.
"We do intend to resubmit a planning application but maybe on a smaller scale, without the arena."
