POLICE are alerting people to be on guard against car thieves following a spate of thefts from vehicles in Northwich.
Between 8.30am on Saturday, June 25 and 9am on Sunday, June 26, four cars were targeted by thieves who stole various items from inside cars parked in Royle Street, Carlton Road and Malpas Road.
In the first incident, thieves gained entry to a black Mitsubishi Carisma in Royle Street by smashing the back passenger window and stole a car stereo, bluetooth headset, CDs, sunglasses and a mobile phone stand to the value of £399.
Two cars were broken into in Malpas Road, where a six CD multi-changer was taken from the boot of one vehicle and a stereo worth £130 was stolen from a red Vauxhall Corsa after the culprits bent back the front passenger door to get inside the car.
A car stereo was also taken from a silver Ford Focus parked in Carlton Road.
A police spokeswoman warned car owners to ensure they do not leave valuable items on display and make sure cars are locked.
