TOTTING up the total raised from this month's Midnight Walk has been an ongoing battle for hospice fundraisers.
For the figure, originally thought to be £166,000, just keeps on rising and hospice fundraising manager Wendy Gibson is delighted to be putting her mathematics skills to the test.
She said: "We have recalculated and the total from the walk is now £170,000. When Gift Aid is added, who knows what the sum raised will be?"
The second annual 13-mile ladies-only stroll, which saw walkers take to the streets of Crewe and Nantwich, was undertaken by 1,200 participants and was supported by 120 volunteers.
The 2005 event raised £88,000.
