TO all car drivers, I feel I must write in the hope that it may make even one person aware of their appalling driving.

Nearly a year ago, I lost a friend of mine in a road traffic accident. He was on a motorcycle and was not seen by a car driver.

Today, after much soul searching and coaxing, my partner persuaded me to ride pillion with him. I was disgusted to see not one but four cars pull out or overtake into our path. Fortunately, my partner saw them and stopped before more unnecessary deaths were caused!

My partner has taken regular courses in advanced riding and kept to the speed limits at all times. The ride would have been a pleasant experience if not for people's impatience and carelessness - yes, Lloyds Pharmacy van-driver, who pulled out into our path outside Weaverham's main shops - you know who you are.

Please can I urge everyone to look and look again - a few seconds out of your oh-so-busy-lives could save the lives of people enjoying their passion and save their families the horrific trauma these careless actions cause.
