RESIDENTS opposed to Creamfields being held at Daresbury this summer sighed as Halton Borough Council revealed just after 9pm last night (Tuesday) that a licence for the event had been passed.
But the licence - which will net the council £24,000 - was granted with several conditions attached.
One of the conditions is that all revellers attending Creamfields have to wear yellow security wristbands.
Also, the organisers have to take responsibility for public nuisances and public safety, and there has to be a traffic plan in place. The police have already approved such a plan.
Another condition is that a detailed report must be produced after the event, as Cream hope to hold it at Daresbury for the next five years.
Despite the licence being passed there will be a complaints hotline on the night, and the council will have the power to ask for the volume to be turned down if necessary.
