CLIMATE change was a key issue for cabinet minister David Miliband, when he visited the Environment Agency's Warrington office on Knutsford Road, in Latchford.
Mr Miliband, the secretary of state for the environment, came to find out more about how it will affect the region's future.
He held an information question and answer session with staff, discussing floods, drought and how the region can tackle them.
Tony Dean, Environment Agency regional director, said: "The way we limit and adapt to climate change will have a social and economic impact on the region, as well as an environmental one.
"Climate change brings with it the possibility of increased flood risk and summer droughts."
