POLICE are hunting two dogs which attacked a pensioner outside a Lymm park.
The woman had to be taken to hospital for treatment after she was bitten in the calf by a rottweiler and Staffordshire bull terrier cross breed outside Ridgeway Grundy Park on Sunday afternoon.
Police also believe the dogs may have been responsible for an attack on another smaller
dog which was left for dead inside the park.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said the incident happened while the 65-year-old was at the park gates at the junction with Maltmans Road around 4pm. Neither dog was on a lead at the time nor were the owners in sight.
The police spokesman said: "The smaller dog bit the victim's left calf causing a nasty wound which led to her losing quite a lot of blood.
"Prior to the incident another smaller dog was savaged and left for dead."
It was also reported that shortly after the incident the dogs were taken away from the scene in a blue transit van.
The dogs were described as aged between two and five years old and the dog, which bit the woman, had a light brown coloured face. Both dogs were wearing leather collars with studs.
Cheshire Police say they want
to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or the dogs being put into the van or anyone who may know anything about the earlier attack on the dog.
Police officers say they are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may know who the dogs belong to.
