THE amalgamation of Offley Infant and Junior schools in Sandbach remains on course for January next year.
Cheshire's children's services executive was told last week that no objections had been made during the consultation period, which runs until June 28.
Lead member for children's services Cty Cllr David Rowlands said: "The retirement of the headteacher at Offley Infant School triggered both governing bodies asking for amalgamation to take place.
"There are already close links between the two schools and if this plan goes ahead the retiring headteacher will remain in post until the end of the autumn to help the amalgamation plan."
