FOR an award winning night in the pub head to the Prospect Inn, which the Halton branch of CAMRA has just named 'Pub of the Year'.
The Campaign for Real Ale group voted the Weston Village pub as the best in the area after being marked on a number of different criteria including the ranges of beers on offer.
Landlady Sandra Abel was handed her award by David Gray, secretary of the branch, who was joined by other members of the group who came to celebrate the pub's achievement.
The ale lovers group will also be holding their third beer festival next month and will see the event take place at The Brindley Arts Centre for the first time. Beer By The Bridge will feature 20 different varieties of real ales which have been sourced from across the country offering a collection of tastes to suit even the most discerning palettes. And if beer isn't your thing then Cheshire Cider will be providing a cider bar featuring its full range of ciders.
There will be three sessions for the festival, which will run from 7-11pm on Friday, July 28, and noon until 5pm then 7-11pm on Saturday, July 29. Admission to all sessions costs £5 but card carrying CAMRA members will get a £1 discount. The evening sessions will also have added spice thanks to the band Gentlemen of Jazz who will be performing a range of jazz standards.
Tickets are limited so book yours now by contacting the Brindley box office on 0151 907 8360.
