PENKETH school children celebrated the Queen's 80th birthday with artistic flair on Thursday by painting pictures of the monarch for a library display.
The artistic pupils from Penketh South Community School worked together to produce a wide variety of art in tribute to the Queen that was displayed at Penketh Library.
Jean Richards, art co-ordinator for the school, said: "All the children from reception to year six contributed what we call mixed media work including portraits, collage and abstract."
Governors Eileen Dempsey and Jacqui Smith suggested the idea as a way to get Penketh pupils of all ages working together and doing something creative.
