THE chief executive of Manchester City Council and his deputy dropped into Birchwood to talk about Warrington's position within the Manchester city region.
Businesses in the Birchwood Forum welcomed Sir Howard Bernstein, and Eamonn Boylan, to the meeting last Wednesday to hear their views about how they think Warrington can play a part in the economic city
region strategy.
Peter Crompton, chairman of Birchwood Forum, said: "Warrington is an important centre for economic activity and its impact reaches far beyond the Warrington boundaries.
"The meeting was encouraged to hear Sir Howard's recognition of Warrington's important role in improving economic success in the region, particularly in relation to its current attraction for businesses in the targeted strategic business sectors."
The meeting was attended by repesentative of private and public sector organisations.
