THERE is a great excitement in the RATS 'camp'.
Last week, the group received the most encouraging news possible.
After four and a half months of vigorous campaigning, including a public meeting, members of the town council have announced that they are 100% behind the group and have offered their full support in the future.
Followers of our campaign will know that the RATS had been refused permission to attend the public inquiry into the Replacement Waste Local Plan in September.
Our letters of objection arrived after the date set by Cheshire County Council and were considered not 'duly made'.
However, the town council had written to express its concern before the due date and is carrying forward our campaign.
Now, we are all working together in a common cause and it is so encouraging for the RATS to have our elected council members fully on side.
We still do not understand why the Waste Plan was not brought to the attention of local residents but that is behind us and we are so pleased to have the town council's support.
We would like to thank all those who have been working behind the scenes to bring this about and look forward to working together in the future.
