THE conversion of a Daresbury barn into offices will go ahead, despite Walton Parish Council saying it would look like something from the nearby science park.
The scheme to add a glazed screen into the front of the barn at Elms Farm on Hobb Lane drew concerns from councillors who said they would like the barn to retain some of the rural elements of the area.
Clr Hardy said: "The objection from the parish council is only to do with the glass panels at ground level. The proposed materials are incompatible with the surrounding."
After hearing from Alison Freeman, speaking for the developer, seven councillors voted in favour of the scheme and one voted against it.
