A CRASH victim was slashed with a Stanley knife and robbed by a man who deliberately drove into his car in daylight.
The 19-year-old was left 'extremely shaken' and with marks on his face after being threatened by an armed man demanding cash.
"It's unbelievable really," said Det Sgt Dave Walsh who is investigating the incident. "It's someone who obviously knows what they are doing."
Police say the victim was driving his blue Ford Escort company car along Earle Road, Widnes, when he was shunted from behind by a white van.
When he stopped to investigate, a man approached the driver's side.
"It was at this point his wrist was grabbed and he was threatened so he handed over the money," DS Walsh added.
The man sped off along Watkinson Way towards Runcorn.
He is described as of Asian appearance, in his mid 20s, of medium build, 5ft 9ins tall, bearded and he spoke with a local accent. He was wearing a grey cap, black jacket and trousers and black gloves with orange stitching.
Police want to speak to anyone at the Bowers Park pub, jet wash or Focus who may have witnessed the incident last Friday (June 16) at 11.40am.
Call DS Walsh at the Halton robbery unit on 01244-613 730 with information.
