AS a driving instructor in Warrington, I am particularly appalled by the standard of driving and people's inability to read road signs.
The issue of bus lanes has recently been highlighted.
Examples of permanent bus lanes are A49 Winwick Road and Cromwell Avenue by the Peace Centre.
The bus lanes in traffic black spots, i.e. Knutsford Road towards the town centre and Wilderspool Causeway, are only designated bus lanes between 7.30am to 9.30am and can be used by any other road user outside of these hours.
I am constantly amazed by other drivers' reactions when I instruct my trainees to use these particular lanes correctly.
If people spent more time familiarising themselves with the latest edition of the Highway Code and Roadcraft, it would save them a lot of frustration and time in negotiating town centre traffic.
