WARRINGTON clinched victory at Brooklands in the Cheshire County Cricket League Second Division on Saturday.
Warrington posted a commanding 285 for 6 in their innings, with Hughes making a career best total of 133.
His second-wicket partnership of 135 with Smith put them on course for a big total and Kirby's well-worked 47 maintained their progress.
Warrington then took an early wicket in Brooklands' innings before clinching four more in the space of two overs, with S Heydon finishing with 4 for 24.
Brooklands' final pair stuck at the crease for 14 overs but R Batey, who took five wickets, grabbed the decisive 10th wicket.
Warrington's second team were beaten by six wickets at home to Poynton after a middle-order collapse.
The hosts had made a good start but slid from 58 for 1 to 77 for 7, with only J Coneeny, 32, showing promise.
Warrington struggled to 126, with S Roberts hitting 28, but Poynton reached the target for the loss of only four wickets despite 3 for 43 from T Balmer.
Warrington's third team won at Urmston's thirds by 98 runs with the aid of 107 not out from Pranath Dhir.
Fellow opener Danny Beardon also struck 75 runs and Birender Kapoor smashed 40 not out to take Warrington to 250 for 2.
Wes Charlton then took 3 for 21 and veteran Mans Naseem grabbed 4 for 45 as Urmston were bowled out for 152.
The fourth team lost by six wickets at home to Chester Boughton Hall's fourths after being bowled out for only 154.
Thirteen-year-old Jordan Mitchell scored his maiden 50 for the club but Warrington's total was not big enough as the visitors coasted home.
Warrington's under 13s lost to Brooklands by 40 runs in their first match in the championship phase of the Cheshire County Cricket League.
Chaderton took 2 for 9 and Riley recorded figures of 1 for 8 as Brooklands made 116 but Warrington fell short on 76 despite 21 not out from Corcoran.
