AN annual tennis event has been running all week in Warrington and reaches the semi final stages in 13 singles and doubles competitions tomorrow, Friday.
Venues are rotated for the popular Stockton Heath Tournament and this year it is being held at Grappenhall Village Lawn Tennis Club's new Stockton Lane facility.
The eight courts, six of which are synthetic grass and five are floodlit, have been graced for the first time by 119 players and have proved to be a big hit with them, especially as play has been able to continue through periods of rain.
One player from Estonia and one from Barbados have joined those from the Warrington area bidding to reach Saturday's finals in men's, women's, doubles, veterans and under 23s competitions, which start at 2pm.
Tonight's and Friday's matches will start at 6pm and supporters are welcome for all sessions.
