THE colour of glorious sunshine was reflected in offices and schools across Warrington on Friday in support of St Rocco's Hospice.

The annual Go Yellow Day has become something of a tradition in the town, with businesses holding dress down days and yellow themed activities.

And this year was no different as the town got into the swing of things and painted the town yellow.

The event culminated in a yellow

sponsored balloon release in the Old Fishmarket at the Golden Square Shopping Centre where crowds gathered to watch Mayor Clr Linda Dirir release the yellow cloud.

Yellow hospice merchandise along with badges bearing the hospice emblem - the sunflower - will be on sale throughout June so that the town can continue to show its support.

Claire Manock, hospice appeals manager, said: "Over the years Go Yellow Day has raised a staggering £100,000, allowing St Rocco's to care and support thousands of patients and their families, offering them a wide range of services completely free of charge.

"The continued support of our local community and Go Yellow Day has enabled St Rocco's to grow from strength to strength.

"More than 80 companies and schools took part in the event this year and our sincere thanks go to everyone who has helped make this event the great success that it is."
