A NUMBER of Warrington companies have signed up to voice their concerns at Government proposals to transform the way we buy a home.

Home Information Packs are due to be introduced in June next year. They are aimed at helping to speed up the buying and selling process by having information available to a buyer at the start of the procedure.

Each pack, costing the seller up to £700, will contain information about a property such as searches, copies of the deeds and a new document called the Home Condition Report.

But a campaign has been launched to stop the packs from being brought in and, nationally, nearly 1,500 firms have signed up.

Some of the main concerns include poor training for home inspectors and that the information contained in the packs may become quickly outdated.

Some of the companies covering Warrington and Cheshire who have joined campaign against the home information packs include: Brian Ramsdale Building Consultancy, Cavendish Manley, Dodds Property World, Garner and Sons, Meller Braggins, Millers, Owen Knox Estates, Red Roof Estates, Alfred Newton and Co, Beardsells, Byrne Frodsham and Co, Collings, Drummonds and Xpress Legal.
